Fèis Ìle 2027

    The Islay Festival of Music and Malt returns from Friday 28 May to Sunday 6 June 2027, with each distillery taking its own day.

    The day allocations below are published by the festival organisers. Individual event programmes, ticket prices and release details for 2027 have not yet been announced — those are usually confirmed in the spring.

    What is new for 2027

    • Portintruan joins the schedule in full, sharing the Monday with Caol Ila.
    • Laggan Bay, which opened in April 2026, returns on the closing Sunday alongside Islay Ales.
    • The Indie Whisky Fèis and the Islay Whisky Vault again run alongside the distillery days, giving independent bottlers their own slots.

    Planning ahead

    • Book beds and ferries first. Accommodation and CalMac vehicle space for festival week are usually gone long before the event programmes are published.
    • Plan transport, not just tickets. Island taxi firms and tour drivers are booked out during the Fèis; arrange them at the same time as accommodation.
    • Expect open days, not just tours. Most distilleries run bookable experiences alongside a free-to-enter open day with music, food and festival bottlings.
    • Group by geography. Two distilleries in one day is realistic; see the whisky map for driving times.
