Fèis Ìle

Fèis Ìle — the Islay Festival of Music and Malt — grew out of a Gaelic music and culture festival and now runs across ten days at the end of May and start of June. The structure is consistent from year to year: each distillery takes a day, opens its gates, runs bookable tastings and warehouse experiences alongside free entertainment, and releases a festival bottling.

Around the distillery days sit ceilidhs, the Port Ellen opening parade, independent bottler events and Islay Ales' own day. Nothing is centrally ticketed: each distillery sells its own experiences, usually releasing them in the spring.
